The Apache Software Foundation and Software & Support Media (publishers of yours truly) are pleased to announce that ApacheCon Europe 2006 is scheduled to open at The Burlington Hotel in Dublin on 26 June, to go on till 30 June 2006. Following the success of ApacheCon Europe 2005, this event will present a unique platform for the open source community to acquire deep insight into the latest open source techniques and methodologies with strong focus on Apache-based software.
A wide range of over 70 sessions and workshops at ApacheCon Europe 2006 will cover significant aspects of open source technology and offer insight into the latest developments in leading ASF projects and open source trends, such as the legendary Apache HTTP Server, Jakarta, Geronimo, Tomcat, Lenya, Cocoon, XML, Web Services, Portals, Databases, and more. This year, a two-day Business Track with sessions and tutorials has been added to the conference, giving delegates the chance to learn how to realize profitable projects and what needs to be considered when using Open Source in day-to-day business.
Sessions will be led by internationally-recognized industry experts and will kick off with the Opening Keynote by Thawte and Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth. Other speakers include Brian W. Fitzpatrick (Google), Sally Khudairi (HALO Worldwide), Bertrand Delacretaz (codeconsult), Rasmus Lerdorf (Father of PHP), Gianugo Rabellino (Sourcesense), Craig Russell (Sun Microsystems), and Cliff Schmidt (Vice-President, Legal Affairs of the Apache Software Foundation).
